Alberto Rodríguez

Bachelor of Law and Social Sciences from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile’s Law School (2014).

His practice focuses on civil, commercial, constitutional and labor litigation, as well as on arbitration, administrative procedures and construction law.

He began his career as a paralegal to Bofill Mir & Álvarez Jana (2011-2012). As a lawyer he was part of the judicial team at Kast Pinochet (2015-2017). Then he joined Parraguez y Marín’s litigation and arbitration team (2017-2019). Afterwards, he was part of Abogabir Miranda’s litigation and arbitration team (2019-2020), rejoining Parraguez y Marín in 2020.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCES

He has defended the interests of multiple mining companies and their subsidiary companies in several litigation and arbitration procedures, relative to mining contracts and services.
He has represented a concessionaire company in a conflict against a Municipality, regarding the unilateral termination of the concession contract for surface and underground parking in its district, for an amount of approx. USD $20.000.000.
He has represented a real estate company against a Municipality for denying and not reassigning an urbanistic rule.
He has represented the interests of a family against the Chilean State, for the death of an inhabitant of the Juan Fernández isle in the context of an earthquake and subsequent tsunami in 2010.
He represented the interests of a family against a health service in Viña del Mar – Quillota for negligence in a medical treatment, that resulted in the amputation of a 5-year-old child’s arm
He has represented the interests of a mining company before a lawsuit filed by a labor union for approx. USD 2.000.000.
He has represented a sea products company in a successful bankruptcy reorganization procedure, for approx. USD 4.500.000.
He has represented different companies in several litigation and arbitration procedures related to construction and public works concessions.
