Hernán Apablaza

Associate

Bachelor of Legal and Social Sciences from the Universidad Católica de Antofagasta’s Law School (2003). Master’s in Labor Law from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (YEAR). Additionally, he holds a Diploma in Labor Law awarded by Universidad del Desarrollo (2003).

His practice focuses on criminal litigation, advising on civil and commercial matters, advising on labor law matters with emphasis on collective negotiation processes, intern and extern auditing in environmental, energetic, water use, mining, administrative procedure and real estate matters.

He initiated his professional career as an Advisor for the Transfer to Calama Project of the División Codelco Norte (2001-2003). Then, as a corporate lawyer dependent on the Codelco Norte Legal Department, which grouped the Radomiro Tomic and Chuquicamata Divisions (2005-2008). Later, he was a Law Advisor for the ex-División Codelco Norte (2007). Afterwards, he integrated as a corporate lawyer, dependent on the Chuquicamata Legal Department (2008-2015) and, later, the Codelco-Chile Northern District Department, which groups the Radomiro Tomic, Gabriela Mistral, Ministro Hales and Chuquicamata Divisions, performing as Coordinator Lawyer of the Ministro Hales Division as well, where he managed every legal and corporate businesses of said Division. He integrated Parraguez y Marín’s team on 2020.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCES

Ha representado a grandes compañías mineras en numerosos procesos de negociación colectica —reglada y no reglada— con sindicatos de trabajadores y supervisores.
Ha representado a grandes compañías mineras en materia relativas de bases de licitación y negociación, redacción, revisión, interpretación, aplicación y término de contratos civiles/comerciales suscritos con empresas contratistas (EPC, EPCM, etc.).
Ha representado a una gran compañía minera en materias ambientales y recursos naturales, con énfasis en auditorías internas y externas en procesos de certificación y recertificación en materias de Seguridad, Salud Ocupacional y Medio Ambiente.
